'Kapiti' ORIGINAL Artwork, framed 73 x 53cm
‘Kapiti’ is a colourful, detailed image of the houses of Waikanae and view of beautiful Kapiti Island.
‘ I wanted to convey the feeling of dusk at Kapiti. Colour seems to be amplified and the atmosphere is serene and sumptuous. It's my favourite time of day and being a busy mum I’m quite often driving through the hills of Waikanae collecting my son from friends at this time. I love looking down onto Kapiti Island on the drive home through the gaps in houses. The colours are always different, and always perfect.
In this image I decided to place an old Holden FB, I felt it was fitting. Charming yet a little quirky and understated. “
The original painting was completed on 300 gsm watercolour paper using watercolour paint, ink and a little acrylic paint.
The painting has been framed in a beautiful white frame with white Mat.
